実は、クレヨンはワックスから出来ています。
We can use them to make a multi-colored
candle.
そしてクレヨンを使うことでカラフルなキャンドルを作ることができます。
You can make old candles into new, cute
candles using these crayons.
使い古したキャンドルを新しい可愛いキャンドルに生まれ変わらせられるのです！
I did an experiment to make colorful
candles when I was in the 2nd grade of elementary school. It was a fun winter
project.
私はこの実験を小学2年生の時に経験しました。とても楽しい冬の体験だったのを覚えています。
Today I’d like to tell you about it.
今回はそのことについてお話しします。
To prepare: old candles, hot plate, metal
mug, candle mold, candle wick
newspaper, gloves, crayons, knife
必要なもの：古い蝋燭、ホットプレート、金属製のマグカップ、キャンドルモールド、蝋燭の芯、新聞紙、手袋、クレヨン、ナイフ
Step 1 Use
the knife to shave your favorite color crayon into small slices.
まず、ナイフで好きな色のクレヨンを薄く切る。
Step 2 Put the
crayon slices and old candles into the metal mug.
薄くスライスしたものを古い蝋燭と一緒に金属製のマグカップに入れる。
Step 3 Heat the
metal mug using the hot plate until the crayons are melted.
Use medium heat and be careful of the temperature of the hot plate!
ホットプレートで中身が溶けるまでマグカップを温める。
中くらいの温度で温めるので火傷に注意！
Step 4 Put
the wick in the candle mold.
キャンドルモールドに蝋燭の芯を刺して固定する。
Step 5 Pour
about 1cm of the heated candle wax into the candle mold. Let it cool.
溶けたクレヨンと蝋燭を1cmくらいキャンドルモールドに注ぐ。
Step 6 Repeat
Steps 1 to 5 with different color.
他の色で1から5の手順を繰り返す。
Step 7 After
completion, remove the candle from the mold.
固まったらきモールドから取り外して完成！
I was so happy to make candles in my
favorite colors.
好きな色で自分好みのキャンドルを作れてすごく嬉しかったです。
